Hansen, Robert E.
Following undergraduate study at Pacific Union College and Loma Linda University in California, Dr. Robert Hansen attended medical school at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. The Lancaster, California native completed his internship at Cincinnati's Good Samaritan Hospital and his residency at Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco.

Dr. Hansen held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, chief of surgery and staff surgeon in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, serving in the 12th Evacuation Hospital, Second Surgical Hospital and 93rd Evacuation Hospital between 1969 and 1971.

On his return to the United States, Dr. Hansen was assigned to Ireland Army Hospital at Fort Knox, Kentucky, before receiving a fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

He established a private practice at Glendale Adventist Medical Center in California in 1973, and practiced there for 20 years before joining the CIS staff. He was named director of surgery at CIS Thibodaux for 12 years, and is currently performing the latest venous therapy treatments at the Vein Center of the South in Houma, Louisiana.

Dr. Hansen is board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
